Hr. Dr. Takahisa Karita
Co-Founder
Unify Platform AG
Finance and cryptocurrency are two of the biggest areas through which blockchain technology is contributing by creating unique digital assets linked to intellectual property that opens funding and economic growth. It is also sustainable infrastructure patented repair technologies, which reduce environmental challenges in concrete restoration by offering the reduction of CO2 emissions. These entrepreneurial and research support platforms and the industries of UNIPLAT comprise global solutions that the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals provide.
Hr. Dr. Takahisa Karita is a visionary leader and entrepreneur with decades of experience across multiple fields. Using this expertise, he has come up with innovative solutions and global collaboration. His ability to bridge industries and build scalable, impactful businesses underlines his commitment to empowering communities, advancing sustainability, and addressing critical challenges worldwide.
A journey through Industries, Innovation, and Global Impact
For the past 30 years, passion for innovation in business, contribution to the betterment of society, and business success have defined his career. Experiences from pharmaceuticals and biotechnology to IT and finance have formed the underpinning for Takahisa’s understanding of business dynamics, human potential, and the importance of sustainability as a driver of global change.
His work is motivated by the very simple and powerful dream of having businesses that grow in this competitive global marketplace but also be a vehicle of social good. Each step within his journey reflects this kind of commitment: it shows, with purpose and resilience, how businesses may make long-term impacts that are seen locally and internationally as well.
He started his business at the age of 24, taking up his first business as a sports trainer. During this stage, he focused on conditioning management for high schools and corporate groups. This happened to be a very great time when he learned the worth of discipline, the power of team collaboration, and excellence in the human spirit.
This was a very formative period for him, and he learned everything there is to know about leadership and changing with the wind. Totally unrelated to what he does now, these values would remain with me through subsequent ventures into new fields of play.
Pharmaceuticals: The First Giant Leap
After Takahisa’s stint as a sports trainer, he joined his father’s pharmaceutical company as an executive. This was one of the most important chapters in his career, giving him a chance to delve into the intricacies of healthcare and biotechnology. His main focus lay in the development and licensing of antiviral drugs. During his tenure, the company became a non-consolidated subsidiary of a pharmaceutical wholesaler listed on the Japan Stock Exchange.
However, he realized the latent potential in the expansion of the company’s operations on a global level. At 27, he decided to take the bold step and start a new pharmaceutical venture from scratch. The idea was to replicate and expand the successful aspects of his father’s company while tailoring its services for international markets. During the Lehman shock and the 2008 global financial crisis, despite all these challenges, he managed to build and eventually sell the company.
Through these efforts, he established a core principle that undergirds all his initiatives: every business has to be moved by a continuous and long-term view while having meaningful contributions to society. The philosophy has undergirded his work and, indeed, continues to inform his decisions on business.
CDTEC China: Shaping Education Technology
Takahisa’s most important venture is work with CDTEC China, where he is serving as CFO and head of overseas business development. The company had developed and sold ERP systems to kindergartens in China mainly to help owners in streamlining management processes.
He understood that he had to be different from others and hence, further expanded our services by partnering with one of the major Chinese banks. At this juncture, he offered services like electronic fee payment systems, authentication cards, and security-enriching apps for kindergartens. Over time, these innovations helped CDTEC China become a leader in education technology.
Most important is the super app for kindergarten parents: in its essence, a payment application but also, at the same time, an all-encompassing app for daily living, leisure time, education, and educational services. Now, it is used by more than 3 million families, testifying to trustworthiness as well as value generated among its users, including in popular services such as WeChat, Alipay, and China Merchants Bank.
UNIPLAT: Innovation unlocked everywhere
This is how UNIPLAT came to be a completely personal motivation that opened up a new chapter in his life. He saw his father become a researcher-turned-entrepreneur and struggle. It was through his struggles that inspired him to create something for people like him. Such visionaries can really change the world but do not have the resources to do it.
He co-founded UNIPLAT with a team of experienced entrepreneurs who shared his vision. Together, he built the world’s first online platform dedicated to supporting researchers and entrepreneurs working on challenges aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Now it holds the biggest, the brightest, and the most diversified community of more than 160,000 members from 146 countries. It works under 93 partner organizations and enjoys external advisory board support from 69 members. It connects and extends up to the scale of anti-Alzheimer drug development, next-generation cybersecurity, and sustainable repair of infrastructure.
For example, there comes a situation of empowering members because the source of income becomes the intellectual property; for example, PreIP enables issuing certificates of ownership in the form of NFTs to secure protection and valuation for innovation, and this leads to an innovation culture coupled with the novel opportunities for growth and cooperation.
UPT: Cryptocurrency for Intellectual Assets
UNIPLAT reached its milestone in April 2024 when it listed its cryptocurrency, UPT (UNIPLAT Token), on Probit Global. The UPT is a coin whose value is tied up with the intellectual property from which it has been fashioned to help entrepreneurs and researchers.
What makes UPT stand out is its stability and purpose. Unlike the rest of the cryptocurrencies, UPT serves as a reward and an asset, which means that users will be able to monetize their contributions while ensuring economic stability. This is particularly valuable to members in developing countries since their traditional currencies are usually unstable.
UPT supports individual members within its community, ensuring safety and reliability in the financial system in building overall strength in the community composed of UNIPLAT, as members are paid with UPT based on their own efforts through Pitch to Earn™, which automatically causes it to self-sustain.
Leading Over 100 Projects: A Strategic Approach
It means handling a lot of ventures in one go with a proper and strategic approach. Today, Hr. Dr. Takahisa Karita handles more than 100 projects spread worldwide and across industries. His two primary focus areas on them involve motivation management and strategic direction. He empowers team members to take ownership of their roles, making the environment just right for people to shine without necessarily needing to be watched all the time. That way, he can focus on high-level decisions, look into future trends, and provide strategic direction for each project.
It is very important to capture the unique competencies of each individual in this approach. He aligns their strengths with defined KPIs to foster a culture of collaboration and accountability while driving innovation and ensuring that every project gets done efficiently.
e-Ret: New Green Infrastructure.
Another important venture in his portfolio is e-Ret (e-Repair Technology Certificate Association), a general incorporated association dedicated to repairing concrete structures around the world. As environmental changes are accelerating the degradation of infrastructure, e-Ret’s patented e-Repair technology offers a sustainable solution.
Unlike the traditional methods, e-Repair technology retains concrete strength but reduces CO2 emissions dramatically. This new approach not only addresses structural and environmental issues but also brings e-Ret into the game of shaping a sustainable future.
As Takahisa progresses into the future, such platforms as UNIPLAT will become critical tools for managing global challenges. It is in such platforms that cooperation and mutual understanding can provide a powerful driver for meaningful change and ensure sustainable development. He can already see that happening in the next decade, only this time many more similar ones springing up around the globe. So, the future of this platform will not be competition but collaboration.
Building Effective Teams
Leadership is to build an enabling environment so that people will be succeeding. It therefore focuses on clear communication, aligned personal and organizational goals, and building of trust with innovation. In this regard, every project starts with the agreed-upon purpose communicated through the organization. The setting of realistic KPIs and monitoring ensures teams are motivated and focused towards more significant objectives.
Advice for would-be entrepreneurs
To those who might take this route, his advice is simple: have an idea and act on it. Entrepreneurship has always been made easier by the digital age, where one has unparalleled opportunities to build businesses from the ground up. It is tough but fulfilling. Staying the course for your vision and embracing challenges as they come will lead you on your path to discovering your purpose and impact on this world.
It is in this regard that his work will aim at creating sustainable change. This will be through such initiatives as UNIPLAT, UPT, and e-RET. By constantly focusing on creating a legacy in that journey, he would aim to inspire others to meaningfully contribute to society, meaning that by valuing cooperation, sustainability, and innovation, he can only hope for the future to be constructed on possibility and purpose.
